The next day, I'll drop my review of Ghost's new album!  They both dropped yesterday, so gimme some time to get these done, haha.  Kanye goes first cause his album is only 7 songs and I've listened through once already.

No Good Charlotte.  I never really listened to them until the last year, but I greatly enjoy the Pop Punk energy they bring to the table.  It's just so much fun guys, you can't help but smile a little bit when this song, The Anthem, or one of their other hits comes on.  Like, it's classic in the scene at this point.

Paramore - Misery Business

So it's been like, 3 months since I said my band was finally gonna get together for our first rehearsal, but it actually happened this time.  We finally got together and practiced some songs, haha.  Wrote one, working on another, and covered two.

I figured this would be a good song to start with since it's one of the cover songs we decided on.  Hot dang, this bass part is hard to just pick up without fully knowing the song, not gonna lie.

It's a catchy tune though that probably everybody but me was familiar with.  I only heard it for the first time maybe 3 months back?  The whole 2000s Pop Punk faze was one I happened to miss most of unfortunately.

Emma Blackery - Sucks To Be You

I know I said I wasn't going to do any YouTube music for a little while, but here's some legitimately good stuff.

Emma Blackery is a British YouTuber that I discovered a while ago when my brother showed me this video.  I was immensely amused by this and have been a devoted fan for the last 3 ish years.

A little while ago she started putting some acoustic songs out.  I didn't care for them excessively because I'm not really into that style of music, but this newer stuff is pretty dope.

It's got a bit of a Paramor-type vibe that really sounds like it fell out of the early 2000s, so even though it's new if you were into that era of Rock then this might even feel a little nostalgic for ya.

We The Kings - Check Yes, Juliet

I got turned onto this band by a friend of mine a rather long time ago.  I had totally forgotten them till I found a song on reddit that was some Pop Punk deal.  It was really a disappointing song but it reminded me of this and I got all nostalgic.

Till just now that is.  Apparently, according to a friend of mine, since it's no longer 2007 I'm not allowed to listen to these guys.  More importantly I'm not allowed to get nostalgic.  Ah well, there go half my posts.

Capital Lights - Outrage

Hey, it's a happy music!  Fear not, there's only one more song left from the throwback times filled with Hardcore music.  This is a fun song though, ya know?  It's all peppy and upbeat and mostly and to all of yuo guys most importantly, there's no screaming.

None at all.

I really had a great time with this run.  I might take a few days off before I actually get into the older throws, but for now this was a blast that I'm sure we can all agree was a totally good time.

Hawk Nelson - Live Life Loud

While most all of the stuff my friend Matt gave me was Metal stuff there were a couple things like Capital Lights and Hawk Nelson.

I wasn't too sure how to feel about them because I really wasn't too into Pop Punk, but I really can't deny that it's really catchy stuff to listen to.  It was really out of place with the rest of the stuff he gave me though so I never really listened to them too much then.  Now it's a little too late for me to get into them though... Ah well.

A to Z Challenge: B is for Brendon Urie

Nobody can argue that Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco is a fantastic musician with a rather impressive vocal range.

The only original member of the group, Brendon has decided to release material basically solo by recording most everything on the album.  He's got some touring musicians but the album itself was written and performed almost exclusively by him, which is, in my opinion, a bit of a weird move.  There was discussion before the album was released as to whether Brendon was going release it as his own solo project or as the 5th Panic! album.  However on the day that the final original member announced he had left the group Mr Urie announced that the album "Death Of A Bachelor" would be the 5th Panic! album.

It's not a bad album and has a lot of good tracks, so if you liked them back in the day but stopped once the 2000s ended it's worth checking out again.  Now please enjoy this rather interesting music video.

Capital Lights - Mile Away

For the longest time I didn't know anybody who had heard of these guys.  I'd say it was at least 3 years before I found somebody who had heard of them before actually.

Then I started at my current job.

One night I had my iPod playing and this song came on.  My new coworker Dan said "Hey, I love these guys, I didn't know anybody here listened to them!"  It was a fun moment cause I hadn't had anybody actually like the music I played yet.

About 2 weeks later the same song was on and my then coworker now friend Kelsey recognized it too.  Turns out I just had really musically sheltered friends cause later on Dan
s brother Brian joined us for a few months and Capital Lights was a band he played from time to time.

Bowling For Soup - High School Never Ends

The first time I heard about these guys my uncle was playing a song of theirs talking about how he'd been at warped tour.  "I was walking down the main area looking at the different stages and I saw one with a 400 lb guitarist.  I knew I had to check those guys out." is what he said if my memory is accurate.  Turns out that they're fantastic.

You probably know them for the song 1985 cause that's the one that gets the most radio time if memory serves.
