R. Kelly - Ignition (Remix)

Artist:  R. Kelly
Song:  Ignition (Remix)
Album:  Chocolate Factory (2003)
Genre:  R&B

This dude is full of crap.  I just found out that he wrote the remix to Ignition before the original.  What the hell dude, that's not how it works.

There's no real reason I should be mad about this, but I'm still incredibly peeved by it.

The reason I'm giving R. Kelly the time of day is because I managed to snag the job of music guy at school.  I found out how to play music through the system and as such have been giving the authority to make the playlist.

Beatallica - Revol-ooh-tion

Band:  Beatallica
Song:  Revol-ooh-tion
Album:  Sgt. Hetfield's Motorbreath Pub Band (2007)
Genre:  Thrash Metal, Parody

You know what I forgot I loved?  The band that combines The Beatles and Metallica.

This song is one of the greatest things I've heard in my life, with the song The Thing That Should Not Let It Be being the best.  I've already posted that one though, so here's a different absolutely amazing song.

The flying riff this song throws out there the whole time is probably the best part.  It's like, chase music or something, ya know?  It's a song that just makes me want to peel out in a donut or something and speed down the highway at ungodly speeds.

I hope y'all like it's it's a really good song.

Anthrax - Madhouse

Band:  Anthrax
Song:  Madhouse
Album:  Spreading The Disease (1985)
Genre:  Thrash Metal

The final member of The Big 4, Anthrax.

I've got some mixed feelings about these guys if we're being honest.  On one hand they have a load of fans and they're miraculously still around.  Like, they put out an album freaking last year.

On the other hand, they aren't that good.  As far as Thrash goes, these guys are the top of the bottom.  They aren't as bad as some bands I've heard in the past, but I'd rather prefer to listen to something else most of the time.  That's possibly because they're hella experimental honestly.  Not like, constantly, but they weren't afraid to make moves that could alienate some of the fan base.

Sometimes it worked out like with Bring The Noize, and other times it didn't work out quite so much.  That's ok though, cause they at least tried, which is a sight farther than some bands feel comfortable stretching.

Megadeth - Sweating Bullets

Band:  Megadeth
Song:  Sweating Bullets
Album:  Countdown To Extinction (1992)
Genre:  Thrash Metal

One really can't ignore Megadeth with all the talk of Thrash Metal I'm throwing around the last couple days, so here they are.

I'm honestly happy now that Mustaine was kicked from Metallica.  Not because I don't think he was good enough for them or anything dumb like that, but because I think that if it weren't for his rage against them we'd never have gotten the amazing songs from both bands that we got.  Metallica put out a lot of solid thrash songs, and Megadeth constantly countered with something that was just a little tighter, or a little faster.  They battled for years like that before finally making up.

I'm not as learned with Megadeth's discography as I am with Metallica's, so here's one that may or may not be more popular just because it's what I know and like.

Metallica - Ride The Lightning

Band:  Metallica
Song:  Ride The Lightning
Album:  Ride The Lightning (1984)
Genre:  Thrash Metal

I suppose if I'm talking about Thrash icons it would be remiss to talk about one of the Big 4 without at least touching on Metallica.  Heck, I might even hit all 4 while I'm at it.

Metallica is a rather dope group honestly.  I don't always like to give them too much credit because I don't like how crazy mainstream their newer stuff had been sounding.  It's not bad honestly. I just feel like there's a lot of stuff that could be better done, a little less radio taylored.  Can't blame them though, they've got a great thing going.  And concert wise they're still playing all the good stuff, so that's cool.

Also James Hetfield is one of the best rhythm guitarists, for real.  The riffs he plays while keeping up the roll of lead singer is pretty impressive I feel.  Like, the guy manages to keep up playing the more complicated riffs on songs like Master Of Puppets, it's a good time.

Good lord, I left this on draft, I'm an idiot.  Sorry for the late share all.

Slayer - Dead Skin Mask

Band:  Slayer
Song:  Dead Skin Mask
Album:  Seasons In The Abyss (1990)
Genre:  Thrash Metal

It's been a little while since I shared a Slayer song, and considering they're on their farewell tour it seems appropriate to highlight them a little.

These guys are a band I had never planned on enjoying.  If I had my way I'd probably have never listened to them for whatever preconceived notion I had about them.  It's probably cause I didn't care for Raining Blood honestly.

But this song is mad dark and gloomy, and some of their other stuff is the kinda of Thrash I can get in to.  They were worth my time, and I'm really glad I was able to enjoy them as long as I have been able to.

Tye Tribbett - Work It Out

Artist:  Tye Tribbett
Song:  Work It Out
Album:  Work It Out (single, 2016)
Genre:  Gospel, Hip Hop

So I feel like in honor of Snoop Dogg dropping a Gospel album I may as well highlight one of the guys that he worked with on it, Tye Tribbett.

The dude has some solid tallent.  His Gospel music is really fun, his rap game isn't too bad either, and he seems to be a stand up guy from all I'm hearing.

Check out the song, it's really catchy and fun.

Fergie - Fergalicious

Artist: Fergie feat. will.i.am
Song: Fergalicious
Album: The Dutchess (2006)
Genre: Pop
Language: Some

I men if we're being honest I'm only posting this song so we can all revel in how terrible her rendition of the national anthem was.  Like, dude, it sucked.

I get artistic interpretation, I get it's a very hard song to sing, but my goodness she could have done better than this.

Wham! - Careless Whisper

Artist:  Wham!
Song:  Careless Whisper
Album:  Make It Big (1984)
Genre:  Pop

A friend of mine from school sent me this video, apparently she's on an 80s jam tonight.

Seems like a good plan to me though, cause this song's sax line is catchy as hell.  It's really funny to me how some days I have something to say here, and then others it's like "yes, I like saxophone solo?"

Side note, don't mix 2 to 1 dark rum and lime with a pinch of sugar.  I'm not sure what else it needed, but it needed something.

Tupac - Changes

Artist:  Tupac feat. Talent
Song:  Changes
Album:  Greatest Hits (1998)
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

One of the things I love about people is how quickly terrible things are romanticized.

Let's take Pac for example.  The dude was a violent individual.  Sure he may have had some good messages in some of his songs, but that doesn't excuse the crime and everything he was a part of, ya know?  Gang life, songs that promoted violence and all that.

But he's mostly gonna be remembered as another rapper who fought for equality with his music.  Cause after somebody dies it's like the whole world looks at them with rose tinted glasses, ya feel?

I don't begrudge him that by any means.  I just feel it's good to try and remember everything about a person instead of just the bright spots.
