Tyler, The Creator - DEATHCAMP

Artist:  Tyler, The Creator feat. Cole Alexander
Song: DEATHCAMP
Album:  Cherry Bomb (2015)
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

Hasn't been quite a full month yet, but I feel it's a good time for me to show y'all Tyler's work again.

When I posted Who Dat Boy in February, it kinda started getting me to listen to a lot of Tyler's music.  The dude is freaking mad talented.  I believe he makes most if not all of his beats too, so that's a huge plus, right?  I got mad respect to anybody who manages to make their own beats in addition to writing their lyrics and hitting their flow.  It's a big order to keep up with that not many people can pull off.

The whole Cherry Bomb album is really good, but here's the first track to give you a little experience with it.

Frank Sinatra - The Theme From New York New York

Artist:  Frank Sinatra
Song:  The Theme From New York New York
Album:  Trilogy:  Past, Present, Future (1980)
Genre:  Swing

I suppose it's kinda a rule that if I go somewhere I totally have to post a song about it, right?  Well yeah, I'm going to NYC for an afternoon as a school thing.  I know this song is the most stereotypical song I could possible choose, but that's ok, cause it's about the only song I feel like using in the situation.

But yeah, it's like, an international hair show and it's gonna be a freaking bomb time.  I'm hoping to learn a load of cool things while I'm there, maybe even buy some stuff.  It'll be lit.

HA.  Megabus moved my stop without emailing me, I missed my bus and couldn't go.  Jokes on me.

The Who - Who Are You

Band:  The Who
Song:  Who Are You
Album:  Who Are You (1978)
Genre:  Classic Rock
Language:  Brief, strong

For years and years, I was convinced that the song said "The bees blew back my hair".  It took me so long to realize he said breeze.

The song is fun though, and is one of those few songs that actually snuck the F-Bomb onto the radio.  I'm gonna try and find some of the other songs that have that, I'll get back to you on that.

Spiderbait - Black Betty

Band:  Spiderbait
Song:  Black Betty (cover)
Album:  Tonight Alright (2004)
Genre:  Alternative Rock

So hey, I'm heading to New York City on Tuesday.  It's gonna be a good time.

I'm going for a school thing, so there'll be a lot of hair stuff involved, and I'm for sure gonna end up buying something to help my future school endeavors while I'm there.  But mostly I'm saying this to let you know I'm writing the posts for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday tomorrow, so they're gonna probably be a little more low effort than what I'd usually try to provide.  Not like, trash quality, but not amazing either.

So yeah, Spiderbait.  They covered this Ram Jam song and, in my opinion, made it much more listenable.  The original wasn't bad, I just didn't like it.  I love the distorted effect the singer has on his voice here, it's really kinda nifty if you ask me.

Roomie x Custom Phase - Lost It all

Artist:  Roomie and Custom Phase
Song:  Lost It All
Album:  Single (2017)
Genre:  Synth Rock

I feel it would be inappropriate for me to not highlight one of the YouTubers I've been following recently, RoomieOfficial (or just Roomie).

The dude is an amazing multi instrumentalist, and one of the best singers I've ever had the fortune to listen to.  His range is pretty intense, and he also has an amusing sense of humor to keep up with it.  I dunno, the dude seems to be a pretty good package deal.

Also the fact that he interacts with my two favorite music YouTubers Rob and Andrew really helps.  The guys colab regularly and have a lot of solid musical info for me to learn about.

Imagine Dragons - Gold

Band:  Imagine Dragons
Song:  Gold
Album:  Smoke + Mirrors (2014)
Genre:  Indie Rock

I've been having an absolute blast throwing together a playlist for school.  I've been finding a bunch of songs I haven't heard in a while, in addition to some songs that I hadn't heard before.  It's been really cool especially with bands I'm not as familiar with.

Imagine Dragons for example, I had no clue I liked these guys as much as I did, but their old stuff here is just fantastic.  The off timing this song has is just dope, the chorus really rocks it in.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize

Artist:  The Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls)
Song:  Hypnotize
Album:  Life After Death (2997)
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

Gotta love some old school Biggie, right?  Somebody I'm much more excited to get on my playlist at school.

I guess there's a movie about this dude?  I kinda want to see it, not gonna lie.  Unless it's super iffy like the one about Tupac, then I might pass.
