The Notorious B.I.G. - Hypnotize

Artist:  The Notorious B.I.G. (Biggie Smalls)
Song:  Hypnotize
Album:  Life After Death (2997)
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

Gotta love some old school Biggie, right?  Somebody I'm much more excited to get on my playlist at school.

I guess there's a movie about this dude?  I kinda want to see it, not gonna lie.  Unless it's super iffy like the one about Tupac, then I might pass.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Dead Wrong

Artist:  Biggie Smalls, aka The Notorious B.I.G. feat. Eminem
Song:  Dead Wrong
Album:  Born Again (1999)
Genre:  Rap
Language:  Strong

So I've been working on an old school sounding rap beat today a little.  It's nothing like the style of this song, but it's heading in this direction.

While Biggie never actually met Eminem, nor did they even record the verses in the same year, they work so well together.  I'm really sad that Big died before he could really hit his career stride, but we still have a pile of solid music from him, yeah?

The Notorious B.I.G. - Going Back To Cali

Artist:  The Notorious B.I.G., Biggie Smalls
Genre:  Rap
Language:  Strong

Let's start to round out the year with one of the best rappers there was.  Biggie has some fantastic flow to all his stuff and his some pretty heavy subject matter at times too.  I don't mean to imply that other guys don't tackle big things or anything, I've just been listening to Biggie a little more recently.  Suicidal Thoughts?  That song's heavy as all hell, you can't tell me you listen to that without the end catching you up a little bit.

I love his beats.  It's one of the things that I didn't realize till recently is that you can really tell the people who were touched by Dr Dre and those who weren't.  Biggie's sound is the old school gangster sound that I really really love.  All the beats sound more in line with aspects of Wu-Tang and that's a good direction in my opinion.

Love this dude though, so here ya go.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy

Artist:  Biggie Smalls
Genre:  Hip Hop, Rap
Language:  Strong

I got turned on to this song a little while ago from a friend of mine.  When she was showing my that song Old Thing Back my friend Cassie also introduced me to Biggie in general.

This is a really nice song.  The bass line is terrific and in general Biggie is just a good rapper.  You know, hence the fact that he's famous.

Matoma - Old Thing Back

Kinda like with Sugar, this was a song recommended by my boss.  Unlike Sugar, this is a song that I freaking love.  It's so catchy, and I really enjoy listening to Biggie.  It's just a feel good, makes me happy song that I never want to stop hearing.  Well, at least for now.

Give it a listen, though be warned that there's stuff.  You know, cause rap.

Thomas The Dank Engine, the tale and story.

Today I'm going to introduce you to the wonderful world of Thomas The Dank Engine.

Somebody found that the Thomas The Tank Engine theme song worked well with an awful lot of rap sounds placed over it.  I'm not here to judge, but I'd call that man a genius.

Now before you click that link I gave you I will warn you.  A lot of those posts suck.  There are a few gems in there, but you need to scroll a lot.  or you could just set the sorting options for the top posts of all time.

This is the first Dank Engine song I ever heard, and it still holds a really special place in my heart.

When I showed it to my mom she claimed that it ruined my childhood.  Not sure how it killer her perception of mine, but whatever.

We have 3 songs here.  In order are Come On, Machine Gun Funk, and Sky Is The Limit.
