This song is such a blast that it's borderline a must for stuff you should hear if you're into Sabbath or Industrial stuff. The band is part Trent Reznor and part Ministry, so you know it's a solidly angry representation of the scene, ya know?
I don't have literally any info for the band outside of that, so here's a beautiful cover song to enjoy.

Let's talk about what a great recreation of this song was though. They managed to saturate the song with their sound so heavily that they probably could pull off calling this an original. Zombie has such a unique voice that it's really hard to not pick him as a great replacement for Ozzy's also unique voice. Like, it's so hard to pick a favorite cover of any of these, they just are so freaking good, ya know?
I've always had a soft spot for a well executed cover anyway, but you've gotta appreciate this, right?

When I planned on posting this I had really intended to listen to the entirety of this album by now. Like, the songs I've heard so far were really sweet, and I wanted to give y'all the "review" of the rest of the album.
Nah though, I suppose I'll just have to drop this track on ya. This one, compared to the one I posted near the end of November, is a lot more like their original sound. Very driving and industrial, but also keeping with their more modern tone.
Video's pretty fun to watch too, ya know? Have fun y'all.

One of my favorite Manson albums right here, I feel like it had some of his best songs on it. I hadn't heard of most any of them until I had bought the album, but having listened to it compared to some of his other albums it really stands up rather strong.
Some of his stuff he didn't have a full band exactly, which I feel like didn't come across as well as it could have. The album is a little more produced than some of his others works, so score, right? Sounds a little like Rob Zombie at times though, I don't know if that was purposeful or not.
Fun tunes are fun though, right? Check it out and have a good time. Or as good as you can with the kind of dude Manson is.

So I generally wouldn't sit these guys in the Nu-Metal spectrum, but I feel like this song is close enough for this. Hype time, this is a fresh track from the rather enjoyable band PM5K.
When these guys put out a new album in 2014 I was pretty sure it'd be their last one. Not cause it was bad, but it also wasn't anything new. This album on the other hand is a really solid entry into their catalogue. I'm a huge fan of the sound they had on Anyone For Doomsday, but after a while though that sounds got a little stale. This new album sounds a lot more along the lines of straight up Metal tracks, Rock tracks, and all kinds of stuff. It's a really cool change to a band whose sound was heavily ruled by traditionally industrial noise.
Sid Vicious In A Dress is for sure one of my favorite tracks on the album, but in the spirit of keeping it Nu-Metal I decided to go with the song that actually sounded like that. Good times y'all, check out the album if you're a fan of PM5K, Rob Zombie, or the new wave of Limp Bizkit where they got all angry. It's worth a listen.

Come on now, who doesn't like Nine Inch Nails first album? The whole thing is just a straight up work of art. I mean, at least appreciate an album that helped define a era of weird agery music, yeah?
I come back to stuff like this from time to time because it's just something that speaks to me. Kinda like the weird art styles I'm attracted to, Nine Inch Nails just has something about them that screams "Hey, I'm really good, love me" in a way I don't know how to tell people.
You very much feel Reznor's raw emotion through so much of his music, it's intense. There's actually a version of this song played on piano that I'd advise you check out. It's a very different way to interpret the song that brings light to how uneasy the whole thing feels. I like it.

I found out about PAIN when I first heard Lindemann. I decided to listen to the dude's other band Hypocrisy first though. Not too great in my general line of music, but not bad either.
I finally listened to PAIN after seeing an interview where Peter Tägtgren mentioned that Lindemann was basically the same thing as PAIN but with Till singing instead of himself. As a fan of Lindemann I was rather happy to find I could get more music of the same style.
PAIN is actually straight fantastic. The whole Industrial theme is a style of music that I don't have as much knowledge of as I'd like to. It's a cool blend of Metal music with electronic stuff that is also rather different than Nu-Metal, though still similar. Do enjoy this song though, and happy mothers day as well I suppose, haha.

I suppose basically everybody has heard this song covered by Johnny Cash. It's the classic case of a cover that surpassed the original in it's popularity that used to happen to people like Bob Dylan a lot.
I know basically everybody ever seems to say that the cover is better, but let's pull back into the base of the atrociously named "sad week" and talk about this one, especially in the context of the album.
Starting with the album which was titled The Downward Spiral; Clearly it's an album written by somebody who was really unhappy at the time. It's pretty well documented that Reznor had pretty severe drug and alcohol problems during the writing and recording of his darker albums and this is no exception. Wanting an album that oozed pain and feeling he actively avoided seeking help for his problems. It was also recorded in the house where Charles Manson had murdered Sharon Tate, so not exactly a studio filled with positive energy.
Now the song. It isn't as polished as the Johnny Cash version is. It's not a pretty or well balanced, it's more of a cry of depression that also isn't seeking help. A sad voice that isn't sure what it wants and is lamenting that all it will do is hurt and disappoint you.
The messy sound of it is something that I think really lends to the sadness of the piece. You can argue that the emotion Mr Cash poured into it made the song stronger emotionally, but since this is the source piece you have to think of it differently. It's the song that inspired a broken country musician to cover it because he identified with the pain and sadness conveyed within.
All in all I'm incredibly happy with this song's contributing to the week, it's really solid.

Here's a song from one of my favorite Nine Inch Nails albums. I really love the variations that Reznor has made in his music over his career and this album wasn't any different.
One of the cool things about this song particularly is that it had a lot of electronic stuff going on. Obviously he's always one stuff like this, but this one has an outro that's pure OG Dubstep. Maybe it's not exactly like the current era of Dubstep but it's still rather cool.
Carach Angren shared this guy's post with them while I was doing my top 10 list, so I didn't get to show him to you sooner. I just discovered him though and he's possibly my favorite DJ right now.
He's got this really cool Metal edge to what he does and there's even some screaming that goes down on a decent number of his tracks.
This is the first song of his I heard though, so I thought this would be a good one to share, ya dig?

I decided to put this system to good use today with the Nine inch Nails song Closer. This is a very messed up song. I'm hoping you guys aren't getting tired of the occasional repeat artists, it gets hard to come up with a new artist everyday, so some of my favorites will make a few appearances. What can I say, I'm a daily blog.
On that note, I'm hoping you are all enjoying this as much as I am. This whole blogging thing has been quite an experience so far and I can't wait to branch out overtime.
