I was reminded yesterday of Halestorm and what a great band they are.  While I'm not a super huge fan of their cover albums they've put out (although there's some solid songs on them), the other songs I've heard have just been great.  I also just learned they put out a new album 2 weeks ago, so that's amazing.

I'm gonna have to convince my band's singer to cover one of Halestorm's songs, that'd be an absolute blast.

So I figure I may as well actually make a full announcement about this since I can't remember if I actually mentioned it or not.  Maybe I dropped like, comments, but here goes then.

I'm actually like, it a band now.  Me and a couple friends put together the whole thing the other day and once we find a new drummer (cause our missed our first meeting and hasn't answered anything yet), we're gonna get together and start things.  Imma be honest, I'm not sure fully what direction we're going.  I know I have a different idea of where I would take this than the other guys in the group do, so I'm really excited for all of our ideas to fall together.

All I know for sure is that Halestorm is going to be a band that we cover, and that's what's important.

Saw a cover band on the 4th that was straight up amazing.  The vocalist sounded just like Lzzy Hale and all in all they were just really freaking solid.  I look forward to catching them again for sure.

But hey, Halestorm.  Absolutely awesome band.  I don't always care for female fronted bands, but as I always say when I have one I like, this is one that breaks the mold.  Their guitar work is really surprisingly strong too.  The only thing that bums me out is that they have released some cover albums.  I love cover songs, but if a successful band does that I feel like it's just reaching.  Stone Sour released 2 of 'em right after they fired their stronger guitarist and it really sounded desperate and weak.

I was like 100% sure I had posted these guys in the past, but apparently I haven't.  Unfortunately this means you get a cover as your into to them here but you can always check them out on your own time.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I'm a sucker for great cover songs.  This one almost sounds like Lady Gaga is singing with them, which considering she's a fantastic vocalist I think we can agree that that's a rather good thing for Lzzy Hale.

So yo, Tuesday is the start of The Week Of Evil.  I've been working close with Jeff to find a pile of terrible music to "grace" your ears with.  It's gonna be fun, so be sure to tune in.  November 1st we will return to standard programing.
