Artists: Chinx, French Montana, 2 Chainz
Genre: Rap

Yo guys, we're gonna go live with the A to Z in like, 2 days! #Hype
Fun fact, this song is misspelled on Spotify. It says "Coule" instead of "Couple". I thought it was just a stylization but it seems like every version I find elsewhere (including the album icon on Spotify itself) says "Couple". Ah well.
This is another song I discovered when I was on my 2Chainz streak a little bit ago so I thought I'd share with ya. Tomorrow's song is also going to have Mr Chainz on it, but it'll mostly be focused on another artist. I think you'll like it though, it's much more Pop-y that Rap-y, and I'm gonna assume that you guys will like that a lot more than this, haha.
Band: Fall Out Boy feat. Brendon Urie
Genre: Alternative Rock
Here's another song my sister showed me. It's a song about a nice bit of drug abuse and she was singing along like it was nothing. I mean, I can't really talk because I like to sing along with my rap music as well, but still. She's only like, 16 and still feel like she should be sheltered.
Freaking catchy song though, so enjoy that, eh?
I love overusing commas. My mom is an editor and she reads this blog and I may be wrong, but I think she dies a little when she sees how I write.
Here's the band that that Twenty One Pilots song reminds me of, just not the song it reminds me of. I already posted it a bit ago though, so it's too late now, eh?
Solid song though, ya know?
Loads of question marks here, but there's no question about if this is a good song.
Band: Twenty One Pilots
Genre: Alternative Rock, Alternative Hip Hop
It really sucks cause the music I'm really into right at this moment is going to be featured in the A to Z, so I'm having some issues coming up with good stuff, ya know?
I decided to try and think of something I wouldn't think of, and that made me think of all the music my sister likes. See, she plays Ukulele and if there's one group she plays a lot it's Twenty One Pilots.
On top of that there's a lot of people at work that are in love with these guys.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but I've hardly heard any of their stuff, which I happen to like, but I almost feel tired of it because I've heard so much already, ya know?
Anyway, enjoy a very nice little tune that reminds me of a Dirty Heads song.
Everybody needs a little Nickelback in their lives from time to time. They aren't really as bad as they get credit for, so in small doses they can be genuinely enjoyable. It's when the airwaves get saturated with their music is when it's no good. No music, no matter how good, is worth ruining with overplaying. That's one of the reasons I'm glad I like the music I do, I've managed to avoid it getting over exposure since my town doesn't have either a Metal radio station or a good Rap one.
Band: Thirty Seconds To Mars
Genre: Alternative Rock
This is a song we played as an opener at EYA a few weeks ago. Band managed to knock it out and it also introduced me to this group. I know I posted these guys once before, but I figured I'd give my introduction story since I couldn't remember if I had already.
This album is a pretty cool concept. Each track was written by a different member of the band, thus lending each track a rather different sound than the others.
This track was written by one of the guitarists, so as you'd expect there's a slightly larger amount of guitar compared to other songs. It's actually straight up instrumental.
#DisjointedThoughts #FallingAsleepAsIType
Sorry guys, I'll get caught back up soon. Once all religious holidays are done for a bit.
Yo yo, just discovered these guys while updating that playlist and mistyping a song name, but it's all good!
Power Metal is a fantastic style of music though. Most people are familiar with Judas Priest as the traditional American Power Metal sound, but they all have their own sounds that make it special.
Except Blind Guardian. They are the most Power Metal-y Power Metal band to ever Power Metal.
I'm giving you this song for 2 reasons. 1 is because it's 10:30 and I need to be up too soon to actually think of a better post right now. 2 is because there's a mildly funny story attached to this song.
One night at band practice for Sunday morning we were messing around with the sound settings on the keyboard. There's a mountain of really good sounds it can make and just a couple that aren't as great. One of the good ones is this crappy trumpet sound. Not like a band sound effect, but it sounds just like a cheap trumpet. It's uncanny.
Anyway we realized that it sounded just like the trumpets in the beginning of Ring Of Fire. You know what that means? We decided to play it as our post-service music!
Unfortunately the leader wimped out at the last moment and didn't do it. Also she had thought we were joking the whole time, even though we all took the 10 minutes needed to learn the song. Ah well, lost chances.
Everybody loves classic Rap, right? No? You're sick of me posting Rap music? Dang it.
Hey hey, A to Z coming up though, be excited! Also working on a Spotify playlist of most all the songs I've posted, so be excited there too!
The rules about that playlist are just that I'm not posting full albums. Those and the songs by YouTube artists won't make it, but the rest will be there, so check it out.
Late edits, haha
Just found out today is the theme release day for the A to Z so I think it'd be good to weigh in.
My theme is gonna be posts about either people or less known bands. I'm also going to do everything I can to get a music video to go with it. Sound cool to you? Me too. Honestly just check out the rest of the stuff I do. I'm a daily blog already so what I do is mostly gonna be the same, ya know?
Have what opinions you will about AC/DC and whether they're any good or not, you've gotta respect the fact that they were some major game changers in the Rock world.
It doesn't matter that all their albums sound the same, that their music is generic, or anything like that. They have managed to cement themselves as the soundtrack for being reckless, and that's not an easy thing to do.
They're consistent, they're able to keep up the show still, and have a recognizable sound. That wins in my book.
Band: Murderdolls
Genre: Horror Punk
Language: Once, moderate
I really love this song. This was my jam for a solid month after I discovered it, it's just so catchy. I don't care that it's about some chick that offed herself, it's still a good song.
Hope ya like, too tired to write more cause I put this off till way too late.
I'm assuming a decent number of you watched The Grammys. I did not, hence I missed some coolish stuff like this.
I didn't know how many of David's songs I was familiar with until I heard this honestly. Not an artist I ever really listened to, ya know?
This is really good though, the visual effects in the beginning are more than a little impressive, and the performance is spot on. Please enjoy this tribute to the late great David Bowie.
This one goes out to my coworker Ron. Ron doesn't listen to this kind of music anymore, but back in the day he was a gigantic fan of 90s Grunge.
I say 90s Grunge like it ever really existed outside of that time. The bands may still be around, they might still be putting out music, but Grunge is gone. I'm sorry, it's just time to accept that. It's nice music generally, but the era has passed.
People complain that "good music" has died when anything electronic entered the picture, but I'm gonna have to call BS on that. There are a lot of good bands that are still out there. Just cause you don't like what gets played on the radio doesn't mean you're right and and anybody who wants to listen to modern music is stupid.
The Beatles were "just a fad" and "garbage music" once too, remember that.
Today's trash is tomorrow's nostalgia.
Quit trashing everything that comes around and appreciate the new for what it is, a stepping stone to something greater.
I'm still staying away from both Rap and Metal for a little bit still, I know I probably burnt you out on them for a bit, haha.
So here' the plan for the April A to Z. I'm gonna try and dredge up as much obscure stuff as I can. Not there's a chance you might have heard them from me before, but I occasionally post obscure stuff. The likelihood of me revisiting stuff like that is low though, so it's all good.
As an alternate option to that I'm also going to run and artist profile. I'll probably do a mix of the two to make things work out easiest. I will also really try not to wimp out when I get to the hard letters like Q and X.
I feel I'm doing well in my effort to dredge up old rock tunes, but I think it might have to end soon. I'm running out of songs to pull off the top of my head after all, it's not a genre that I tend to listen to.
Dude, how I didn't think of this first when it came to foundational "If You Live In America" songs I don't know. There's so many songs like this out there that just belong ingrained in your brain the same way they're stuck in mine.
The more I thought about it the more I realized that there are a plethora of songs that you are required by law to like if you live in America, so I'm gonna throw some of them at you.
Artist: Kendrick Lamar
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong
A friend of mine turned me toward Kendrick a while ago and I really just didn't get into him. Bad luck for you though, cause I just got into his stuff and hence, am posting.
Like I said though, I'll back away from the Rap and Metal for a few days at least after this post. I tend to forget to post songs though and when I get back to things I'll think I posted stuff that I never got around to posting but am 100% convinced I did. I'm reasonably good at that...
Hey though, solid song here, song you'll like tomorrow, and A to Z starting back up soon! This'll be a great time. There's a line in here where he just keeps going and going without a breath. It's tight.
Artist: Fetty Wap
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong
Hi, my name is Noah and I listen almost exclusively to Rap and Metal.
I'm gonna do a bit of a diversion after tomorrow though, try to go for some stuff I don't usually listen to. Also we're almost to the April A to Z, so that'll be a blast, right?
I'm gonna be entirely honest, yesterday started as one of the worst days I've had in a really long time. The loops I had spent all week making were ruined because GarageBand was stupid, which was a pretty miserable thing to have happen. After that though things started to look up when I went to my work meeting. I feel like a lot of good information got passed along to everybody and since it was my first solo project as head of back of house training I'll call it a success.
I like this song. I don't know what I like about it really other than it's simple and easy to get into. Much like a lot of their music I guess, go figure.
Band: Superjoint Ritual
Genre: Groove Metal, Hardcore Punk
You know what you need more of in your life? Probably still 2 Chainz, but I'm gonna give you Phil Anselmo instead.
This is one of his many bands he's been apart of called Superjoint Ritual. They're not too bad really, but it's not something I could usually get into. This song is pretty slick though, I like it a lot. It really grooves and since I've been into Lamb Of God a lot recently that's something I'm really enjoying.
Side note, I added 11.75 hours of work at church this week. I literally doubled my usual work amount in addition to working 45 at my main job. Total of 65. I'm really tired, but I also feel really good about this since my brother and I recorded some song loops that will help things sound better.
Music is, as I hope you've noticed, a passion of mine. It was really cool that I was able to use stuff I've learned in a recording sense though since all I've ever recorded before was vocals on some songs in the past, never really bass.
Artist: Young Jeezy feat. 2 Chainz
Genre: Rap
Language: Strong
Ok, this will be the last of this weeks 2 Chainz obsession. I promise.
The beat for this song is so sick though, you can't tell me you can't groove to it at least a little bit, it's awesome.
This'll be a sparse post cause I'm really tired. I work 2 jobs now, which I may have mentioned in the past, but we had some stuff go wrong at my second this week so I had to drop an extra about 10 hours into working there to fix it. Not as much free time to write, but I did manage to make a playlist entirely composed of songs featuring 2 Chainz.
It amuses me, and it's how I found this song. Go me.
Artist: A$AP Rocky feat. 2 Chainz, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong
I've decided to continue the journey of songs that Mr Chainz is a part of for a few more days with an artist that I only became acquainted with recently. A$AP is a really smooth rapper from what I've heard, but I really need to listen to more of his stuff to get a better opinion going.
This song is really catchy though, and all three rappers that take a verse straight knock it out.
It's during Drake's jewfro days though, so that's a bit of a downside.
Artist: B.o.B. feat. 2 Chainz
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong
Recently Mr. B.o.B. has been educating us on how the world is actually flat.
Dude's a moron.
This song we are looking into the lyrical gold that spills from 2 Chainz mouth.
Whistling Dixie
Middle school, I was getting head on a ten speed
Gigolo blood line, pimpin' hereditary
Black on 28's, it remind of February
Day you can fuck with me, that would be Neveruary
Dead ass rapper should have came with a cemetery
I am so cold, n*gga like Ben & Jerry
Fill a nigga, deal a n*gga, kill a nigga, obituary
My vision blurry, these bitches flirtin'
I've been drinking all night, I think my kidney's hurtin'
So I closed the curtains on the 62
Her ass would knock your ass out, you better stick and move
Chain hang to my ding-a-ling
Chain hang, chain hang to my ding-a-ling
To do a threesome you gotta intervene
Her legs so sexy when I'm in-between
Every time I listen to this song I'm struck by how freaking deep my Chainz gets.
I mean, it'll be Neveruary before I can think of messing with this guy. He's as cold as ice cream with a chain that hangs to his ding-a-ling, so you know he's not one to mess with.
For real though, what does a Gigolo blood line have to do with being a pimp? That confuses me.
I swear I posted this song before. Like, for real.
It's really funny though, please listen to the words he's saying because every time I watch this video I laugh. Like, a lot. Loads of laughter. Chuckling like a mf'n fool. That means it's funny. Listen to it.
Side note, this dude's a Christian rapper and I think I've seen more drugs in his videos than most of the other rappers I listen to, haha
Yesterday was a leap day. I totally had plans to do something on that and now I'm really bummed that I didn't. Ah well.
At least here's a stupidly fun and energetic song to help recover from Monday, right? I swear, I never have band Mondays, but this one was straight up miserable.
