I'm pretty excited about this band cause they're the first band that's been classified as Crust Punk I've ever run into.  It's a term I hear thrown around a little but I honestly haven't heard any bands to the best of my knowledge before.

Actually reading into it it looks like the genre was a precursor to Grindcore, so I suppose I should have probably picked up on that sooner.  Ah well.

Solid song though, reasonably enjoyable.

This Is Hell - Acid Rain

While I was writing up for the Week Of Evil I came across these guys.  For the life of me I can't remember what band it was, but apparently the band is releasing or had just released an album called Black Mass.  Searching for that album though just brought me to these guys, since they also had released such an album, and since they aren't Black Metal there's a decent number of people that like it.

It's not a band I'm familiar with, and it's not my favorite strain of Punk music, but it's not too bad really.  I liked it enough to post it, right?

Gwar - Sick Of You

Dave Brockie, better known as Oderus Urungus, frontman of Gwar, died in March of 2014 or a heroine overdose.  It was a huge hit to the metal community at the time and a lot of people still haven't gotten past it.  I"m really sad that I never got to see their show live.  They still tour now, but the show isn't nearly the same without Dave.

But hey, that doesn't mean their old music doesn't still sound great, right?  Some of their music is a little more Thrash Metal, but this song is a lot more Punk.  I love it though, it's such a fun tune.

Kvelertak - Kvelertak

A while ago my brother told me about a Black Metal influenced Hard Rock band.  Couldn't remember who they were till recently, but I'm reasonably glad I finally checked them out.

There's this really cool old school Rock groove to the song that I just couldn't get over for ages.  That intro guitar riff is just so solid and classic it's not even funny.

Honestly if it weren't for the fact I knew the title wasn't english I probably wouldn't have realized for a little bit that these guys were singing in Norwegian.

Fun fact of the day, Kvelertak means Stranglehold.

Suicidal Tendencies - Subliminal

So I've been playing a bit of Grand Theft Auto while being sick and I decided I would switch away from the Rap stations I usually frequent and check out the Punk station.  It was a decent choice, I've already run through most of Rap songs ages ago.

Superjoint Ritual - Personal Insult

You know what you need more of in your life?  Probably still 2 Chainz, but I'm gonna give you Phil Anselmo instead.

This is one of his many bands he's been apart of called Superjoint Ritual.  They're not too bad really, but it's not something I could usually get into.  This song is pretty slick though, I like it a lot.  It really grooves and since I've been into Lamb Of God a lot recently that's something I'm really enjoying.

Side note, I added 11.75 hours of work at church this week.  I literally doubled my usual work amount in addition to working 45 at my main job.  Total of 65.  I'm really tired, but I also feel really good about this since my brother and I recorded some song loops that will help things sound better.

Music is, as I hope you've noticed, a passion of mine.  It was really cool that I was able to use stuff I've learned in a recording sense though since all I've ever recorded before was vocals on some songs in the past, never really bass.
