Let's Talk 6-2-18: General Update

Hey y'all, just wanted to give a little update on how things are gonna go for a bit.

As you may remember, ya boy just finished hair school.  The most exciting part of that is that I already have a job lined up in the hair field to go into, I just need to take my test.

The flip side of this is that I was mostly unemployed during school and, as such, my funds are in a bad place.  Because of this, I have also picked up a part time third shift job.  The hours at the barber shop and the hours at my third shift deal are actually perfect opposites, 10am to 6pm, and 10pm to 6am.  Yes, this is a hellish schedule that I know is going to be exhausting.  Only two days of work should overlap though, so I think I'll be safe

The effect of that here though, is that the quality of these posts will devolve even more than they are now, which I'm super sorry about.  I'll try to write more in advance, but there's always a chance that I'll not do that because I'm not always the most organized when I'm tired.

Here's to that not happening though, amirite?  Cheers, enjoy the song.

The Beatles - Getting Better

Band:  The Beatles
Genre:  Pop Rock, Classic Rock
Themes:  Positivist

Not gonna lie, this is a hastily thrown together thing.  I ended up hanging out with a friend until 12 am and I had to be for work at 4:30.  It was an unexpected thing, but still a lot of fun so I don't regret anything.

You guys should know about The Beatles anyway, so I don't need to say anything about them I don't think.

The Beatles - Glass Onion

For all the crap I've said about The Beatles it's not like I can say I don't like them.  I actually do enjoy their music a lot, though by today's standards a lot of it seems predictable and such.  Hey, it's worth a listen though, and this is a song that doesn't get played on the radio so much, so you might not have heard it before.

Cover Week: Godsmack - Come Together

I feel like I would get strung up as a music fan if I didn't do the obligatory "O.M.G.  The Beatles a the best musicians ever to grace the earth." thing.  Well you know, they were good pop rock musicians that experimented with psychedelic music.  Good for them.

This is a cover though, so it's obviously garbage, right?  I mean, nothing can possibly match up to the mighty Beatles, right?

Nah, this is still good.

Godsmack may not be the best band ever, but they do a decent rock song, and they also do a decent cover song.

On a side note, happy Valentine's Day everybody.

Beatallica - Fuel On The Hill

Beatallica is something special.  Starting as a joke that "went too far", they combine classic Metallica sound with lyrics and riffs from The Beatles.

They are truly unique in what I've found so far and they are completely backed by Metallica in their endeavor.  The surviving Beatles want nothing to do with them however.

If you aren't fairly familiar with both artist material this is probably not going to be as amusing to you as it is to me, so I'd say check both songs separately before listening to this stuff.  In this case, the songs would be "Fuel" by Metallica and "The Fool On The Hill" by The Beatles.
