I was gonna introduce this dude in April for the A to Z, but why wait till them to show you the genius that is Weird Al?

I don't think that anybody is quite as goo at song parodies as this guy is.  He mimicks songs in a way that nobody else quite does, and he manages to make a good copy of the videos that go with them.

Like this one for instance.  I'm pretty sure everybody has heard Michael Jackson's song Bad, but if you haven't seen the video I urge you to take a second to watch it so you can appreciate what Weird Al did.

Weird Al Yankovic - Christmas At Ground Zero

You know what everybody needs this time of year?  Something to laugh at.  This is a little bit of a crazy time of year for anybody involved in ministry because it's one of the big two holidays.  My friend calls them Kreasters, my one pastor called the CEOs, but they both mean the same thing:  People who only show up to church on Christmas and Easter.

This, obviously enough, makes things stressful as we all work to see how we can get people to come to church year round instead of just at the one time of year.  The areas I work in are really heavily tied into this.

So yeah, let's pull in one of my favorite parody artists to lighten the mood, eh?

Weird Al's polka infused music has and always will be some of my favorite stuff to just laugh at.  The work he does to get the songs to sound the same as the originals is amazing and all of his originals are always funny.

Enjoy some off beat christmas music to step back with.

DVDA - Now You're A Man

So I'm gonna get a little sentimental for a sec here.

One of my best friends is a kid who I used to think would never really do anything with his life.  He was always a little odd and a pain, so it was easy to write him off.

After a few years though I ended up getting involved in a project with him that was kinda cool.  It crashed and was a bit of a disaster, but it was still fun while it lasted.  Then this dude gets up the nerve to actually go to school for something not trash.  He's down in Philly being a film major and actually getting his life together.

Never thought he'd end up being one of my friends, but I'm eternally glad he is, so this song is dedicated to him.  Mainly because he showed it to me literally 4 hours ago.

Jim Bianco - That's What She Said

So I know I'm putting this out a little late, but I forgot to write a post yesterday afternoon before I took a nap.  You see, I work at 6am today, but I was told that there was no way I was getting out of seeing Jurassic World's midnight showing.  Sorry for the fact that this is late, but I don't even care cause that movie was fan-freaking-tastic.  I feel like it stayed true enough to the original series and, despite a slightly cheesy ending, was very well done.

Just cause this is the only inspiration my sleep deprived self has, here's a video I found ages ago when a friend and I just searched "That's What She Said Song".

Beatallica - Fuel On The Hill

Beatallica is something special.  Starting as a joke that "went too far", they combine classic Metallica sound with lyrics and riffs from The Beatles.

They are truly unique in what I've found so far and they are completely backed by Metallica in their endeavor.  The surviving Beatles want nothing to do with them however.

If you aren't fairly familiar with both artist material this is probably not going to be as amusing to you as it is to me, so I'd say check both songs separately before listening to this stuff.  In this case, the songs would be "Fuel" by Metallica and "The Fool On The Hill" by The Beatles.
