Motörhead - Killed By Death

Band: Motörhead
Song: Killed By Death
Album: No Remorse (1984)
Genre: Speed Metal

Oh hey, I just rediscovered one of my favorite Motörhead songs, so here's a great little song called Killed By Death.  I mean, most all of Motörhead's old school tunes are fantastic, so that's no surprise.

Motörhead - Hellraiser

Band: Motörhead
Song: Hellraiser (Cover Song)
Album: March Or Die (1992)
Genre: Speed Metal

I feel like I might have posted Motörhead recently, but I feel like it's important to share this one now, because I'm embarking on watching all the Hellraiser movies again.  While only the first 2 movies are actually worth anybody's time, I feel like it's good to watch them all again since I don't remember what happens in any of them.

Fun Hellraiser trivia, the later instalments were literally just movies that had Pinhead added as an addition.  That's why we get such drastic departures to his character as the series goes on, in addition to the sketchy writing.

There was the one that was a kind of a cop drama, there was the one about a video game, and there was the one about a cult that felt the most like Pinhead just didn't belong at all.

I enjoy them all decently though, so I'm pumped to watch them again.  I just need to find a spot to watch 3 through 8, since Shudder and Netflix only have the first 2.

Motörhead - Eat The Rich

Band: Motörhead
Song: Eat The Rich
Album: No Class (1979)
Genre: Speed Metal

Wasn't super sure what I was gonna post today, cause I'm dragging really hard what with the work schedule and all.  I actually had fallen asleep for the night only to wake up around 10 to realize that A. I don't need to be up since this is a night off and B. I need to write a post real quick.

So yeah, here we are with Motörhead's song Eat The Rich.  It came to me cause I was listening to their cover of Sympathy For The Devil, and as I posted that before, I needed a different song.  IT wasn't until I was done here I realized this is a repost from back in 2015, I just had filed the song under the wrong name in my spreadsheet.  I'm not gonna stress about that though, so enjoy!

Motörhead - Sympathy For The Devil

Band:  Motörhead (Motorhead)
Song:  Sympathy For The Devil
Album:  Bad Magic
Genre:  Hard Rock, Speed Metal

This is a cover I only discovered recently, but it might be the best one I've found yet.  I'm firmly of the opinion that Lemmy's voice is the best thing this song could have used.  He fits the feeling the song is supposed to convey, and the band adds a good edge when they need to.

I mean, I'm also a big fan of Lemmy and Motörhead in general, so that might be changing up my opinion a little.

Motörhead - White Line Fever

Band:  Motörhead
Song:  White Line Fever
Album:  Motorhead (1977)
Genre:  Speed Metal

Obligatory R.I.P. Lemmy, bassist extraordinaire and one of my bass idols.

Back in the Week Of Evil I made some comment about a band that was doing new things for the era.  I wanna say it was probably Bathory.  Well obviously I did some looking into so I could make sure my broad sweeping statements were mostly accurate, and I was reminded that Motörhead was rather active for quite a while before Bathory.  I wasn't about to let that kill my statement though, cause early Motörhead is not nearly as harsh as early Bathory.

In fact, outside of generally lower quality a lot of it sounds like a more aggressive Led Zeppelin, ya know?  The general feeling of it just felt really similar to me at least.

It's a rather fun song though, I'm more than a little happy with what it sounds like, it gives me hope toward listening to the older material.

Motörhead - Iron Fist

Band:  Motörhead (Motorhead)
Genre:  Speed Metal

So as I mentioned on my last Motorhead post, we're gonna have a little more of them than usual this month.  Once a week for the month of January to be precise for those of you that want specifics.

I think this is 7 days after the last one at least, I'm not 100% sure cause I feel like it might be a little late.  Eh, I don't actually care that much though.

This song sound so much like the song Ace Of Spades it's not even funny, but it is still a solid song by itself so I feel you might enjoy it.  It's fast, it's hard, and if you like the band you'll like this.

Motörhead - Ace Of Spades

Band:  Motörhead
Genre:  Speed Metal

One of the great icons of rock died on the 28th.  Lemmy Kilmister, age 70, died from a very aggressive form of cancer.  It's really bumming me out actually, cause even though I didn't listen to the band to often this kinda seems to symbolize the fact that a lot of the old rock legends are gonna be dying soon.

Hey though, if you never listened to their stuff here's their biggest hit.  I'm gonna be running a few of their songs in the coming weeks as a kind of tribute.

Motörhead - Eat The Rich

Band:  Motörhead (Motorhead)
Genre:  Speed Metal / Classic Metal
Language:  Some

Let's take another look at Motörhead!  I'm mostly using this as the test template for the new feature at the top, but that's not important.  The important thing is that this song is fantastic.

On a side note, the number of times I say Fantastic, Catchy, Amazing, and Wonderful is probably way too high.  Ah well.
