Dropkick Murphys - The State Of Massachusetts

Band: Dropkick Murphys
Song: The State Of Massachusetts
Album: The Meanest Of Times (2007)
Genre: Punk Rock

So I'm slowly getting more familiar with how RSS feeds work.  Squarespace has a lot of information on it, and YouTube is filled with some great informative stuff that helps me get different explanations on it.  If all goes well I think I can even get on Apple Podcasts, so life is pretty good on the podcast front.  Even have a logo worked up, which I'm rather happy with.  Check it y'all, it's really decent.

I figured for today we'd listen to some of the melodious tones of Dropkick Murphys.  Every time I give them a listen I fall in love a little bit more, so I hope you can enjoy them as much as I do.  It's a nifty Irish feeling these guys bring to their Boston selves, so I'd recommend checking it out.

Dropkick Murphys - Pipebomb On Lansdowne

Band:  Dropkick Murphys
Song:  Pipebomb On Lansdowne
Album:  The Gang's All Here
Genre:  Punk

Hey hey!  So this month has been a bit of a mess cause of actually having a pile of free time again, but it's been really cool at the same time.

I'm currently in Philly helping a friend of mine move into an apartment, which is pretty fantastic.  Dan, the guy I'm helping move, is probably one of my favorite people.  I mean, don't tell him I said that though.  Thanks to him I'm spending 4 days in one of my favorite cities, so that's a score.

Got a lot of issues with internet so thus us all I've got for now.  Catch ya tomorrow!

Cover Week: Dropkick Murphys - Fortunate Son

Band:  Dropkick Murphys
Genre:  Celtic Punk
Language:  Strong

As somebody who only passingly listens to Dropkick Murphys I must say their covers are always a blast.  They all basically sound the same, but that's not the important part.  The important part is that they all sound the same as, not only each other, but as a lot of their other songs as well.

I really love the energy that they bring to every song they make.  You can feel the punk sound, the hatred of England, and whatever other really Irish things you can think of.

Interestingly enough these guys are from Boston though, and I can't decide if that hurts their Irish-ness or not.  Maybe I don't really know what I'm talking about in that regard, but who knows.  They've been around since '96, so I'm sure they've earned the right to be whatever they want to be.

Also not to brag or anything, but today marks my 888th post.  Got some sick trips there, pretty proud of that achievement.  Not a single missed day, just some that were a little late from time to time.
