Shoutout to my boy Lou for turning me onto Young Thug, or at least trying to.

I'm basically a disaster at actually taking half my music recommendations, and Lou told me to listen to this album since June of last year and I didn't take the time to give it a listen till recently.  Sorry man, my bad.

Freaking love this song though, the whole album was really solid, but this is a song that stood out to me for whatever reason.  Just really solid, ya feel?  Take a listen, it's a nifty sound.  Also the video is hilarious, super freaking 90s.

Travis Scott - Mamacita

I suppose I should be more impressed with Travis Scott than I am.  He's a dude with questionable quality and half rate content that consistently manages to make me like his music.

My issue with him though is that my favorite songs of his aren't super available to me.  Like, I love is song Drugs You Should Try It, but I can't catch it anywhere easy to stream from.  Just like, YouTube.

The sweet thing is that he collabs with some straight up amazing artists, and in exploring his stuff I've managed to find more of their stuff than I expected.

A to Z 2K17: G is for Gucci

Everybody Looking was probably one of the biggest surprises of 2016.  Gucci had been in prison for ages at that point and a solid comeback was kinda not something a lot of people were thinking of.

Then he started popping up on social media though.  The dude had dropped a ton of weight and wasted no time in putting out music.  Didn't seem to matter to him that he was on House Arrest, dude ended up putting out 3 albums anyway.

In 6 months the man put out 3 albums.

Not bad albums either, it's really good music.  You can tell what videos he shot while he was still on house arrest though, cause they're all in his mansion.  Like, a lot of them.  If you look at his right ankle in the thumbnail you can see his tracker too.  Maybe it's visible in the video, but I'm not sure.

Lil Yachty - Minnesota

As somebody who isn't a really big fan of Lil Yachty, I didn't know this song existed.  I had only heard it in that freaking Sprite commercial he's in.  I thought "oh shoot, I bet somebody remixed this commercial into a full song of some sort.  Well I sure felt dumb when I found that they just remixed a song for the commercial.

Outside of the fact that I hate Yachty's voice I really can't deny that this is a fun song.  Even Thug's part isn't bad, and that dude's hard to listen to sometimes too, haha

Travis Scott - Pick Up The Phone

So I'm not really big into Trap music; as a whole it's not really my scene.  That being said however, I do really dig this album.

It's honestly a beautiful piece.  As somebody who's not a huge fan of Travis Scott I'm tempted to say that this may be one of the best albums of 2016.  For real, it's a musically wonderful thing.

I am kinda bummed that he cut the $ out of his name now that Apple Music picked him up, it's kinda disappointing.  Looks like a less ghetto name though, so I suppose that's why he did it.

Speaking of people I was told to listen to, I suppose Young Thug has to be near the top of the list of guys I just haven't really listened to too much yet.

Look at this dude's hair though, I have so many issues taking obviously dyed blond hair on black guys seriously.  Like, these guys are trying to look like thugs but then they have this hair that looks like it was spray painted in their head?  Nah man, nah.

But hey, it's the 700th post!  Boo freaking ya, it's a rather huge goal!  I'm pumped man, things here are going great on here and I'm glad I've managed to keep it going this long.
