Rob Scallon - Recording Metal on 100-Year-Old Equipment

Artist:  Rob Scallon
Bandcamp:  robscallon.bandcamp.com
Patreon:  www.patreon.com/RobScallon

So in the sequel to this video, Rob Scallon records his metal band onto wax cylinders.

I just thought it'd be cool to share this cause, while it's not exactly a song as I'd usually share it, it's a really awesome bit of music stuff.  Watch the other video before this, it's so cool to see that working and in action.

Rob Scallon - Gas Mask Catalogue

Artist:  Rob Scallon
Genre:  Metal, Djent

Well if it isn't the internet's favorite guitarist, Rob Scallon.

Rob has been making music for the last 10 years on YouTube, but most people only became aware of him in the last 3 or 4 because of his banjo covers of popular Metal bands.

I feel like his originals don't really get the respect that they deserve though, so whenever I post him I really try to include them as much as possible.

Let's talk about his 9 string guitar real quick.  It's basically a one of a kind prototype that he received due to his partnership with Schecter, a popular guitar brand for Metal musicians.  The big thing that he does with the guitar is he doesn't abuse the lowest string.  It's such a hugely different range between the lowest and the highest strings that if you're doing what Rob does here with playing across the whole thing it turns a little muddy.  All in all it's a really solid song to listen to though, so have fun listening to it and supporting an independent artist.

Rob Scallon - Theater Girl

Artist:  Rob Scallon
Genre:  Instrumental

I've got no clue what to classify Rob s honestly.  Unless I have vocals I honestly really have a hard time guessing by myself.  Usually I'll go to Wiki for more difficult bands but since Rob is a YouTube musician he seems not to have an entry.

Here's Rob though, the obnoxiously good guitarist.

One of the things that Rob does is take instruments like the 8 stringed guitar and use them for their non intended purposes.  Let's be real here, the only reason people would buy an 8 stringed guitar up till recently is because it's pretty much just for Metal music.

Well Rob has managed to get whatever this classifies as and Funk stuff going down with an 8 string, slightly changing the stereotype of what 8 strings can be used for.

This is a really cool chill song, so feel free to check it out, yeah?

Rob Scallon - Anchor

Happy day after Christmas!  I hope all of you had a great time with friends and family and that in general the day was peaceful.

I figured that since it's kind of a slower day we'd start out with a nice quite song to play in the background while you recover and clean up.

This is a guy you may or may not have heard of before.  A little while ago he had some song covers hit it really big.  Some ukulele metal songs and a Slayer song on banjo.  Believe it or not there is more to this guy than just Ukulele/Banjo covers.

Rob Scallon is a YouTube musician who's been making some pretty quality music for a few years now.  With unorthodox things like playing Funk on an 8 stringed guitar, Metal Madlibs, and many other things of equal creativity.

This is one of his "older" songs he released a while ago and it's really pretty sounding.  I don't really know what else to say, because he's still evolving as an artist.  He did release an EP very recently though, and that's really cool!  You can check him out on Patreon if you want to.  For a small donation per video or a monthly limit you get all of his songs for free!  I like that a lot personally.

He's really fun to watch too.  Look at his funk solo video for the best "guitar faces" you've ever seen.
