YG - My N*gga (remix)

Artist:  YG feat. Lil Wayne, Rich Homie Quan, Meek Mill, and Nicki Minaj
Song:  My N*gga (remix)
Album:  My N*gga - Remix (2014)
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

So I was actually gonna post this on the 16th, but while I was watching the video I noticed a dude holding up a jersey that said March 18th.  I dunno the significance of that, but I figured it was only 2 days away, so let's rock it, eh?

Back when I was a wee baby boy just getting into Rap music, I did what any white dude does.  Go for the most stereotypically "Rap" song he could find.  What's more stereotypical than super ignorant ghetto sounding Rap?  Nothing.

So yeah, I accidentally came across YG, and actual decent name in the Rap community, just cause I enjoyed the title and the "cred" I thought it bought me.  I am not nearly this dumb now for what it's worth.  I still enjoy this type of stuff, but I've got way better taste now outside of just that.  You know, just for what it's worth.

Anyway though, I decided to share the remixed version of this song because Lil Wayne and Nicki manage to drop some fantastic verses on this track.  The original is pretty good, but I feel like this one is a little stronger.

Chance The Rapper - No Problem

Artist:  Chance The Rapper feat. 2 Chainz & Lil Wayne
Genre:  Rap Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

Firstly, I think it's hilarious that Wayne enters this video by skateboarding in.  Skateboarding is kinda a thing he does, so I just find it amusing, ya know?

Secondly, DJ Khaled needs to get the hell out of everybody's videos, it's kinda starting to bug me.  Still though, bless up, major key, and all his trademark catchphrases.

Ok, to the real post though.

I don't know that I've listened to Chance before this song, but this is such a happy cheery song I don't think I'll pass on him much longer.  I mostly heard this song because freaking 2 Chainz is on it and I have an issue with enjoying 2 Chainz features a little too much.

Happy song though, so check it.

Lil Wayne - Sucker for Pain

Band:  Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Logic, X Ambassadors, & Ty Dolla $ign
Genre:  Rap, Hip Hop
Language:  Strong

Ok, I think we can all agree that Suicide Squad was a little disappointing as a movie, but the music from it was pretty good, right?

I mean this song is straight up loaded with mountains of artists on it.  It would make more sense if this was an Imagine Dragons song featuring everybody else, but it's classified as Wayne's song everywhere I'm finding it so there's that.  The dude only has the one verse but for whatever reason they decided to credit him the song.

Heck, if memory serves this may have been one of his first releases since the whole Birdman fiasco.

It's a rather catchy tune though and is my attempt to manage to keep up with the times, ya know?

Lil Wayne - 6 Foot 7 Foot

Artist:  Lil Wayne
Genre:  Rap
Language:  Strong

This was my first experience with Lil Wayne in his own material and I really liked it.  He's got a pile of really decent lines in it too that make me laugh.

One of my favorites though is one that I told my brother.  "Married to the money, f*ck the world, that's adultery."  It amused me a lot so I told him but he decided to take it down the punk rock path.  If you're a true anarchist then you're all like "yeah, f*ck the world man!", but if you're in it for the money then that kind of attitude really doesn't make much ca$h dolla', ya dig?

I also like the line "Real Gs move in silence like lasagna".  Get it?  Cause the letter G is silent in lasagna?

Anyway, this song is a lot more chill that what's comin' to ya, so enjoy while it lasts, haha.
