Out of all the letters I thought I'd have issues with, I really didn't think that U would be one of them.  It turns out that all the U bands that came to mind for me were too popular for me to post.

My dad mentioned Umphrey's though, and that brought back a lot of fun memories from my first MP3 player.  It held about 200 songs and about 20 of them were these guys.  I wasn't as in to their stuff then seeing as I'm not a fan of longer songs, but I can much more appreciate what they bring to the music scene now.  There's a lot of stuff going on in their music, and I'm even able to add some of their stuff to my school playlist

Umphrey's McGee - In The Kitchen

When I was first showed this band I really didn't care for them.  While I'm still kinda like this to a point back then I really hated songs longer than 4 minutes.  I felt like they were way too long with all their jamming stuff.  It's really good, but I really didn't have patience for it.

I'm mildly more patient now though and can enjoy this stuff like I should and it even has the added benefit of almost feeling nostalgic!  Boom, goals.

Also I'm really freaking pissed because I only just realized yesterday's post was freaking post 600!  THat's a rather large number that I'm really proud of and I missed it...  Ah well, there's always 700.

Umphreys McGee - Cemetery Walk

Umphrey's McGee is the essence of a jam-y prog band.  They have a lot of really cool songs but this one happens to be one that has stood out to me over the years.

What I mean by standing out though, is more that this was the song I heard my brother play the most when he was in his Umphrey's kick.

From the mellow piano start to the high power ending, this song travels all over the music spectrum.
