I know for a fact that Jimi is one that my dad gave me.  I was originally going to share his take on The Star Spangled Banner since that's what I used to listen to from him the most, but when it comes down to it I only listened to about the first minute for all the fun guitar intro.  If we're going for songs I listened to all of, it'd have to be Purple Haze.

See, I was under the impression that Jimi was a Metal musician,  I literally only thought that cause he did that version of the Star Spangled Banner.  As such, Purple Haze was one of the only songs I found of his that really fit the image I had of him in my head.  I have since come to appreciate him for more than that, but dang did it take me ages.

This song was originally a Bob Dylan song, and is a wonderful example of his work being done better by somebody else.

I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna do Rocktober.  I want to do another "Week Of Evil" soon and I'm running out of song ideas that fit such a limiter theme.  I prefer Only having 1 week longs themes honestly.

I always post the noise that I listen to, but here's some stuff I don't get to listen to as often that's still freaking fantastic.

I really love a lot of what Hendrix did, and even though this song is one of the ones you're more likely to have heard, I'm still posting this cause it's one of my favorites.

Zakk Wylde - Voodoo Child

So speaking of playing all the notes of a guitar, this is an excessively bastardized version of Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix.  Don't get me wrong, Zakk Wylde is good, but the song didn't need a 5+ minute solo in it.

Still though, my brother saw me post the last song with the line about playing all the notes and he showed me this.  good times.
