Saturday night, rather than try and sleep in the 6 hours between Saturday evening and Sunday morning jobs, I was on Reddit.  One of the things that got posted was the new Thor trailer and, honestly, I'm rather pumped about it.  I'm glad they finally stopped trying to take Thor too seriously, because I really wasn't a huge fan of the first movies.  This one is really fun looking, check it out here.

But while I was watching it there was something that bugged me.  I knew that I knew the synth line they have in the opening, but I couldn't think of where.  As the trailer went on though I heard the higher synth part rather than just the hit that was used in the beginning and I realized it was one of the Hotline Miami songs that I liked a lot.

Took me a second to figure out which one it actually was, but hey, I managed to find it!  If you like this kind of music I heavily advise you check out the rest of the soundtrack to the game, it's a fantastic selection of music.  I'll link a YouTube playlist and a Spotify playlist here, take some time to enjoy it.  It's all music much in the same vein, and possible some of my favorite music.

Quick trivia about Magic Sword, it's 3 guys who dress in masks and robes for their performances to obscure their identities.  I'm a sucker for a good stage show, so this amuses the crap out of me.  It's the same reason I like Ghost, Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Starset, and anybody else who puts on a full identity for their show.  Always a blast.

Megadrive - Slum Lord

This is possibly my favorite song from the Hotline Miami soundtrack.  It's really really really a song you need in your life.

This song was for a specific character in the game who was a detective that was slowly starting to lose it.  As the game went on he became more and more unhinged in his quest to find the elusive Miami Mutilator.
It was probably the best storyline in a game that really let's you put all the pieces together yourself.

The artist however makes some really killer music for what it's worth.  If you're into this stuff I'd advise checking out more of his material.

Carpenter Brut - Roller Mobster

So like the other day, I'm still stuck on Hotline Miami's killer music.  No, I'm not being paid to promote this, I just think it's really good.

Dang, it'd be cool to be paid to review/promote music.  If I ever become a big deal I'll have to look into that.

Anyway though, killer song.  Reminds me of another game actually called Payday.  It's also got a fantastic electronic music score.

Perturbator - Future Club

So I have this game I really enjoy called Hotline Miami.  This is a game about killing people in a really nifty bunch of ways and such in a top down pixel view.

I'm not trying to sell you on the game, though it is a straight up fantastic thing, I'm just trying to sell you on the soundtrack.

The soundtrack is a mess of crazy electronic music that really lends to the feeling the game is trying to give.  Each level has a song picked that fits the feel for each area and helps create a hectic atmosphere.

This song in particular is probably one of my favorites in the game, so I do hope you enjoy it.
