The Agonist - When The Bough Breaks

Band: The Agonist
Song: When The Bough Breaks
Album: Lullabies Of The Dormant Mind (2009)
Genre: Metalcore

I may as well take this moment to shout out one of my favorite female vocalist, Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy and The Agonist.

The thing I love most about Alissa is that she can scream amazingly.  Like, she's so freaking good at it, especially for a girl.  Then she goes and switches it up and sings beautifully as well.  Panophobia is the best example of that, but as I already posted that song in the past here's a different one that she does it in as well.

Honestly it's a crying shame that I know as little of her material as I do, I just ever took the time to get super into their music.  Maybe someday, haha

The Agonist - Thank You, Pain

Band:  The Agonist
Song:  Thank You, Pain
Album:  Lullabies Of The Dormant Mind
Genre:  Melodic Death Metal

Alissa White-Gluz is probably my favorite female Metal vocalist.  She's able to scream with the best of them while also singing as well as anybody.  Seriously, it's highlighted heavily in the first 30 seconds of the song, it's freaking dope.

I blame growing up with around a lot of female vocalists as the reason that I don't generally care for them as a general rule.  There's a lot of good ones out there, but I'm always going to pick the dude over them because I'm just kinda tired of the sound as a general rule.

The Agonist manages to swing having pretty vocals in with the hard edge of their sound though, which I think benefits them greatly.  They have a new singer now as Alissa has moved to Arch Enemy, and while I'm not as big a fan of her I can't deny that she's at least doing well with the material.

Arch Enemy - War Eternal

I figured I should provide a bit of info based on what I said before.  This is the band that Alissa White-Gluz left The Agonist for.  Well actually she didn't leave The Agonist for Arch Enemy, she had intended to front both bands.  Unfortunately though, things didn't work out that way and she is only with Arch Enemy now.  It's kinda sad considering that she used to do so much more, but you never know.  Maybe the next Arch Enemy album will be bigger, or more, or something like that.

It's not bad, it's just a lot more generic I feel.
