This is a little bit of a different style of chill music.  The other ones were all beach music, sunshine music, and stuff like that.  This music is more along the lines of atmosphere.

This is the kind of music that you light some candles and some incense and sit in a dark room to listen to.

This is the kind of music that you play for meditating.  If you're meditating on evil that is.

This is the kind of music that you play so loud it actually loosens your muscles from the vibration of the bass.

Or this is the kind of music that you play just cause it's enjoyable to you.  Your choice.

Some music is best appreciated live and Sunn O)))'s giant pulsing sound is a wonderful example of that.

If you just want to sit and listen to some massive sounding repetitive music, then it still works on a cd, but from all accounts they are so loud when live you don't hear the music anymore,  you just feel it.  You stand there and you basically get vaporized by a wall of sound.

Seeing Sunn O))) live is really high on my bucket list now, so if you happen to have a ticket I can have for free, I'll take that off your hands.

Sunn O))) - Void (Album)

It is raining.  Rain in January is no good, because all it does is freeze.  When this happens all you can really do is get home from where ever you are, get a good book/ computer, and put on some nice music in the background.  Now you may not really like this music, and I can understand that.  It's a wall of noise that you can just sit and be carried away by.  Still though, I like it and since this is my blog that's really what counts, right?

Sunn O))) - My Wall

Formed by Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson in 1998, this is possibly the heaviest band you will ever listen to.

Noted for their extremely loud shows filled with so much fog you can barely see, the music seems to resonate more from within you than from the speakers in front of you.  This guy has a very good video about his experience actually, and it's worth a watch.

Playing in the excessively low tuning of Drop A on average and with Attila Csihar of Mayhem as their primary vocalist since 2003, I would say there's possibly no one who is quite the same.

Though not exactly "evil", they are certainly dark and foreboding.  This 25 minute song for example, deals with a great many things.  Though it should be noted that Attila is not the vocalist on this track.

Honestly, there's not too much to say about these guys.  Other than being the loudest thing around and wearing robes all the time of course.  I personally can't wait to see them someday.

This album was also named the 18th heaviest album ever by Q Magazine.
