Nu-Vember: Islander - New Wave

If we're being honest, a lot of what Islander does just reminds me of Deftones and Periphery. This song for example especially, just the way it flows musically reminds me of general Deftones mellow sound or specifically The Bad Thing by Periphery.

This is a newer band though, which is why I'm including them in the highlight reel that is Nu-Vember. They're honestly a really solid sounding band, I'm looking forward to seeing what they come out with. Their newer album is a lot more straight up Metal than this one, so musical evolution is clearly an option for them.

A to Z Challenge: I is for Islander

Genre: Nu-Metal

Dude. It's a Nu-Metal band that was formed after the year 2000. 11 years after in fact. I'm really freaking pumped by this, not gonna lie.

Sounding a little like a mix of Deftones, Limp Bizkit, and P.O.D., these guys are not half bad. If I'm being totally honest I'm more excited about the possibility of a resurgence of Nu-Metal than this band itself, but I'm willing to take the steps as they come, ya know?

Besides, this is some solid music. I think a lot of their other tunes are better, but the options I had in the music video department were pretty low. Their album Violence & Destruction has a lot more songs that sound like what I described them sounding like, so even though this song mostly sounds like some sort of Hard Rock tune I promise that their sound fits what I claim. For reals.

Hey though, there's like no screaming in this song so I'm sure everybody can get behind it, right?

What I'm about

I am Noah, king of casual english; One of those bloggers that just doesn't know how to string a proper sentence together to save his life. I really apologize for those of you that will hate that, apparently my honors in english just didn't stick.

I like everything from Satanic Thrash to Top 40s trash, so I'll probably hit on at least one song that you like someday.

Let's be real though, my main pull is Death Metal and Rap, so you'll see a decent amount of that since those are the two industries I mainly follow.

Schedule and Stuff

The posts go live at 12 am EST. If they don't, I probably wrote them the night before and fell asleep before actually clicking on the publish button. It's all good though.

Music wise I mostly pull from what I like. I'm totally open to suggestions in the comments, so if there's some genre you want to hear more of just let me know and I'll do what I can.

Some of this music might be offensive to you. Apologies, but it'll probably happen. Heck, 6 or 7 years ago I'd probably be appalled at what I'm listening to nowadays, haha

I'll try to always tag for language if the song has it though, so you can at least make sure not to listen to if around younger ears if that's something that concerns you.
