Limp Bizkit - Full Nelson

Band: Limp Bizkit
Song: Full Nelson
Album: Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000)
Genre: Nu-Metal
Language: Strong

I decided to fall back into the dark time of my life where Nu-Metal reigned supreme.  Mostly cause I still absolutely love the genre, but also cause I was really dragging the other night and Limp Bizkit helped wake me up in a big way.

This album is honestly amazing, there's so much great stuff happening here that I can't even begin to talk about it right now.  One of the things I like though is the Nine Inch Nails references in this song.  Mainly the chorus, it's just a couple songs rehashed, it's a good time.  Nope, not this song, my bad.  The song I'm thinking of is Hot Dog.

The Runaways - Cherry Bomb

Band: The Runaways
Song: Cherry Bomb
Album: The Runaways (1976)
Genre: Classic Rock

Another song outside my usual wheelhouse today with Cherry Bomb.  Choosing this one because I'm gonna be playing it this Saturday, which I'm pretty pumped about.  Same group I played the last show with, so it'll be a good time.

Bad Wolves - Zombie

Band: Bad Wolves
Song: Zombie (Cover)
Album: Disobey (2018)
Genre: Metal

I would put this cover in the same category of Disturbed's cover of Sound Of Silence, in the sense that both are very good.  It's not quite as good as Disturbed's song, but that doesn't mean it can't be fantastic still, ya know?  Don't let the Metal tag scare you off, this is a reasonably faithful to the original sounding cover, not in the band's traditional style.

Anti-Flag - This Is The End (For You My Friend)

Band: Anti-Flag
Song: This Is The End (For You My Friend)
Album: For Blood And Empire (200X)
Genre: Punk Rock

Episode 3 in the laundromat files.  I was planning on sitting here listening to the Myths and Legends podcast (which is incredibly good), but since I have no service I am forced to listen to the only playlist I currently have downloaded to my phone, the Punk Rock playlist.

While I’m jamming out to all my favorites though, there’s still a huge pile of songs I haven’t had a chance to post yet, so here’s a pretty good one.  I remember the first time I had heard of this band I mostly wrote them off.  The only reason I did that was because I confused them with a different band I had heard years before call The Almost that had a singer with a really annoying voice.  The same friend who gave me some songs from The Almost also gave me some stuff from Anti-Flag, and I suppose in my head they go mixed up a little.

All good though, cause this is a fun little Punk tune to jam out to, enjoy!  Also, can we appreciate this hair?  It's fantastic.

Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man

Band: Mumford & Sons
Song: Little Lion Man
Album: Sigh No More (2009)
Genre: Folk
Language: Strong

While I’m still stuck in this same laundromat, I may as well get some get an extra post knocked out, right?  Finally get ahead in this stuff again, which will be a relief to me.

Today’s song is Little Lion Man, one of my favorite tunes from Mumford & Sons.  I’ve listened to very little of these guys music, and every time I listen to them I wonder why I don’t get around to checking out more.  It’s just good y’all, these are some talented dudes, ya know?

I’ll probably take the time to add them to the playlist I’ve made to listen to at the barbershop, since they aren’t afraid to swear I just have to be careful of adding songs without a care.  My personal favorite for example, Broken Crown, would be a little difficult to sneak in.  It’s such a good song though, very intense for an acoustic piece.  Check it out if you’ve got the time, it’s well worth it.

Lil Pump - Esskeetit

Artist: Lil Pump
Song: Esskeetit
Album: Esskeetit (single, 2018)
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong

While I won’t for a minute try to say Lil Pump is a conventionally good musician, I find him to be incredibly enjoyable to listen to.  There’s something about his simple and repetitive music that’s just attractive to me, ya know?

This song for example, it’s such a plod the Pump just mumbles his way through.  Despite that I just love it, and I’m not even sure why.  I assume it’s cause it’s fun to listen to dull repetitive music to turn your brain off for a bit.

I re-wrote this like 3 times now as I changed songs, but when I went to get the video link for D Rose I found this newer single instead.  It's actually super catchy, though I think that not including the obvious feature of Smokepurpp is sad, considering his catch phrase is Esketit.

In other news, I’m writing this post while in my first laundromat.  It’s quite a time to be sure.  It’s 12am, the place is flooded with fluorescent light, and I have no internet connection, so it’s a pretty bomb time.  Oh, and there’s a lot of country music playing, but not any of the artists I happen to like.  Guess I should have expected this moving way out to as small a town as I did, but still, haha

Cake - Short Skirt, Long Jacket

Band: Cake
Song: Short Skirt, Long Jacket
Album: Comfort Eagle (2001)
Genre: Alternative Rock

I fell asleep last night and I wasn't sure what I was going to post, and when I woke up after the best night of sleep I've had in ages I still didn't know.

That's why I figured it'd be a good idea to give you guys some Cake.  Cake isn't bad at all, I'm a fan of the weird sarcastic monotone they have going on.  This video is really funny since it's a bunch of random people reacting to this song, so at least check it out for some solid reactions.

Transplants - Tall Cans In The Air

Band: Transplants
Song: Tall Cans In The Air
Album: Transplants (2002)
Genre: Punk Rock
Language: Strong

I was quite sure I had shared this band in the past, but a quick search of my past post spreadsheet tells me that is not the case.  I suppose I wouldn't have picked this song to introduce you to them if I had realized that, but it's a little late for me to back off now cause all my social links are already queued up, haha

They're a fun band though, lots of cool little things going on with their sound and stuff like that.  I'm a fan of how a lot of their music feels like it's made out of clips.  It's just cool, ya know?

Panic! At The Disco - [F*ck A] Silver Lining [New Release]

Band: Panic! At The Disco
Song: [F*ck A] Silver Lining
Album: Pray For The Wicked (2018)
Genre: Alternative Rock
Language: Strong

I was gonna cover this album as a full review, but since I had a poor reception to the Impending Doom review (and the content of it was lacking on my end too) I figured I'd hold off for a while.  I just don't have a load of time right now, that's the excuse I'm gonna go with at least, haha

I'm a decent fan of the album though.  It's not *amazing*, but it's not bad at all.  I'm sure a couple re-listens will change my mind on that though, considering I didn't fully appreciate Death Of A Bachelor for a few months even.

As it stands right now though, this is hands down my favorite track on the album.  It's energy is fun, and it couples well with the general thought of don't settle for the silver lining to a bad situation, just make all the situations good.  At least that's what I get from it, ya know?

It's good, it's high energy, and it's a fantastic start to the album.

2 Chainz - Ghetto

Band: 2 Chainz
Song: Ghetto
Album: Daniel Son; Necklace Don
Genre: Rap, Hip Hop
Language: Strong

I wanted to throw out one of my favorite rappers real quick, the one and only 2 Chainz.  I'm not sure what exactly it is about him, but there's a lot of his stuff that I've found I really enjoy.  Shoutout to my dude Luis for helping me experience more of his music that the 2 or 3 songs I had heard a few years back.

I remember watching one of those Mean Tweets clips that 2 Chainz was featured on, and they said he looked "like a whack ass Whoopi Goldberg", which I just can't stop thinking of every time I see a picture of him.

So yeah, I'm moving today!  I'm gonna be moving out to where the barbershop is, which I'm absolutely loving.  I know there's no way my car is gonna be able to swing the 40 minute drive on unplowed roads in the winter, so I'm pretty pumped about this.  Rent is cheap, I'll have privacy to record stuff still, I'm excited.
