High On Fire - Fury Whip

Band:  High On Fire
Song:  Fury Whip
Album:  Death Is This Communion (2007)
Genre:  Sludge Metal, Thrash Metal

We're down to the last 3 days y'all and I, as you may expect, am quite excited.  As I've mentioned, this is hands down my favorite set of posts for the year.  I put research into the artists, I care way more about the posts than I should, it's just a grand time.

But that's not the case now, and as such I have put no research into High On Fire.  They turned up in my suggested album list, and that's how I found this song.

It's a solid song though, so I'd say check it out.

Corrosion Of Conformity - Heaven's Not Overflowing

Band:  Corrosion Of Conformity
Genre:  Stoner Metal, Sludge Metal

Speaking of that Primus song I complained about yesterday, that makes me think of way back when when I borrowed my uncle's CD collection.  I really had no clue what most of the music was, but it did introduce me to one of my favorite groups, Alice In Chains.  Obviously this isn't AiC, but that was the first set of connections I made.

When I first started listening to these guys I didn't even know what Sludge or Stoner Metal was, so when my brother got all holier than thou with all his "I listen to more types of music than you do" I know I at least listened to these guys first.

It's a really catchy groovy tune, I hope you all enjoy it.

Bongzilla - Grim Reefer

Band:  Bongzilla
Genre:  Stoner Metal, Sludge Metal

Want some deep lyrics? Wrong song.

Smell, Death in the air

Ahh, Super crystals everywhere

Hit, Wishin' for Death

Horrors, Floatin' round my head

Retribution, Gonna be Hell

Satan, Comin' oh well

This song is...  special.  I asked Jeff for recommendations of what to follow Cannabis Corpse with and he gave me this to keep with the Marijuana theme.  He keeps trying to get me to listen to stuff like this that he tells me about and I never get around to.  Well sorry Jeff, I don't have time for 10 minutes songs usually, aight?

But for real, who would listen to this stuff while stoned?  I feel like that's a bad trip waiting to happen.
