Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower

Artist:  Jimi Hendrix
Genre:  Rock, Classic Rock

I mean, I think everybody knows who Hendrix is.

This song was originally a Bob Dylan song, and is a wonderful example of his work being done better by somebody else.

I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna do Rocktober.  I want to do another "Week Of Evil" soon and I'm running out of song ideas that fit such a limiter theme.  I prefer Only having 1 week longs themes honestly.

Side note, this is post 400.

Nickelback - Someday

Band:  Nickelback
Genre:  Alternative, Rock

Ok, fine.  Nickelback and ICP are two of my guilty pleasure bands.

When picking Rocktober songs though I decided to pick what would be playing on my local rock station that would be called Rocktober hits.  Mostly Classic Rock, but also a lot of stuff like this.  Basically anything that is basic Rock.

I like this song a lot though, and I hope you do too.

Black Sabbath - N.I.B.

Band:  Black Sabbath
Genre:  Classic Metal, Doom Metal

Probably everybody knows Black Sabbath by either their songs War Pigs, Paranoid, or Iron Man.
I'm not gonna lie I straight up love these guys, partially because I can actually play the bass lines in their songs.  It's all relatively simple stuff and for the most part it was how I learned how to play.  Actually since I didn't have anybody teaching me too much after I learned this I kinda hit a wall for a while.  Eh, I still managed to learn more later, it was just hard for a while when you're locked into a pentatonic blues scale.

Journey - Don't Stop Believing

Band:  Journey
Genre:  Classic Rock, Rock

Oh joy, this song.

I don't tend to like Journey simply because they are really overplayed, but they're kinda falling right into line with the whole Rocktober thing.

I do enjoy the whole piano bit in the beginning though and the song is well composed.  Honestly it's just that it's overplayed.

Warrant - Cherry Pie

Band:  Warrant
Genre:  Hard Rock

If you watched through the entire video I linked to in the Rocket Queen post you may remember this song.  You may also remember this song if you lived in America any time between 1990 and now.

It's a really thrown together sounding song that is as huge at it is because of both this video and the fact that it's just a bit of a catchy tune.  Whatever, enjoy your Rocktober.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps

Band:  Lynyrd Skynyrd
Genre:  Classic Rock, Southern Rock

Everybody probably knows this song, Sweet Home Alabama, and Free Bird, but I figured I was gonna post it anyway.  #yolo

This whole month is gonna be loaded with a bunch of songs that fall into the Classic Rock department and I can think of nothing more classic that these guys.  I hope you enjoy the mess that this month is about to become.

The Sweet - Ballroom Blitz

Band:  The Sweet
Genre:  Glam Rock, Classic Rock

I bring this terrible song up because my brother and I are considering doing something with it.  Something angry with a lot of guitars and screaming.

This though, is a song that I hate terribly.  It had its appeal to me a while ago, but now it's mostly just a curiosity.

There ya go, the kickoff of my first official Rocktober song and I don't even like it.  Peace.
